Tennis 2012 Schedule
The Tennis world will kick off the 2012 season with as many as four tournaments starting in the first week of January. After an action packed 2011, Tennis fans will be excited and will be looking forward to the season in 2012. The men’s tennis crown has now become a three horse race and the unpredictability of the women’s draw has kept the fans guessing. The tournaments in Australia, Doha and India are the first few tournaments of the year which will throw open the doors for an exciting season in 2012.
The first major tournament of the year is the Australian Open Tennis 2012 which will take place from 16 – 29 January. The tournament is one of the four grand slams of Tennis and top players play their hearts out on the hard courts in Melbourne. The Australian Open over the years has witnessed some of the most epic matches in the history of Tennis and continues to be a major draw.
The Australian Open will be followed by a series of ATP 250 series events across the world. The more prominent events among them are the ones in France, Brazil, USA and Argentine. The second week of February 2012 marks the beginning of another year of the Davis Cup. The defending champions Spain will once again battle it out against the other Tennis superpowers in a bid to retain their title.
Masters series events in Indian Wells and Miami in March will be followed by the ones in Barcelona, Houston, Munich and Bucharest in April.
The French Open Tennis 2012, the second grand slam of the year will start in the final week of May and will be followed by the Wimbledon Tennis 2012 in the last week of June. The London Olympics 2012 will also attract many Tennis fans as they witness Rafael Nadal’s title defence in the last week of July.
A series of events in the continent of America in August will give way to the final grand slam of the year the US Open Tennis 2012. The Tennis calendar ends with the ATP Masters tournament in November where the top 8 men’s tennis players battle it out for the crown.
